Rata Kindergarten is situated at the northern end of Temuka, opposite Wallingford Rest Home. Rata offers a mixed age group setting for tamariki / children. Along with a qualified trained teaching team, a stimulating learning programme is provided for tamariki / children based on the national early childhood curriculum Te Whariki.
We offer an extension learning programme for 4 year olds with an emphasis on numeracy and literacy. The Kindergarten is very excited to be introducing an opportunity for younger children to get a small taste of the fun and learning kindergarten can offer. Parents of younger children are encouraged to ‘Stay and Play’ with their child alongside the teachers and other kindergarten children.
‘Stay and Play’ will run every Wednesday from 2.00pm – 2.45pm. We welcome new families to call in during this time with their younger child. ‘Stay and Play’ is open for children from 12 months old.
