WOW! Every kindergarten child can tell you how important your fifth birthday is, and the fifth anniversary of a Kindergarten opening is no less important! The dedicated team of Teachers at Ti kouka wanted a special day for our tamariki and whānau that really celebrated the community of TiKouka as well as the staff, and management teams that are essential to the day to day running of our centre.
Mr Whippy started off the party with an ice-cream for every child and kaiako, it was so exciting! They sat under the tree in the shade on this lovely sunny day and relaxed with our creamy treats!
Janine the Head Teacher and Dave our General Manager both made great speeches that celebrated their unique and special kindergarten and the wonderful community they are part of. They all enjoyed the birthday cake after Matua John had said the karakia kai and then the children opened the awesome presents from the kindergarten committee. The tamariki were excited to have their faces painted and picnic on the kai that everyone had brought to share together.
The coming together of our community and the celebration of this anniversary highlighted the moemoea or vision for their kindergarten.
